CELEBRATE SPRING!

FEINSTEIN FOUNDATION CHALLENGE

This is the final month for the Feinstein Challenge! Your donation will have a greater impact this month, since the Feinstein Foundation is dividing $1 million among non-profit organizations around the country who are helping fight hunger. All contributions and food donations received through April 30, 2005, will help us qualify for part of these funds. The funding we have received each year has been extremely helpful to our ministry. With your generous donations, we have the ability to achieve even more.

ANNUAL POST OFFICE FOOD DRIVE

On Saturday May 14, 2005 the National Association of Letter Carriers will be collecting your donations of non-perishable food. This is the thirteenth year that we have been recipients of this canned food drive. This is especially helpful to us in providing emergency food boxes each month. Many of us have had the privilege of working along with the Letter Carriers on this project. Boy Scout Troop #221 has also helped collect food in Turlock in previous years. Watch for notification from the Post Office in your mail box, and please remember to put your non-perishable donations near your mailbox on May 14th.

FRIENDS OF USF

Our next meeting of Friends of USF will be on April 14th from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. We are looking for people willing to contribute their time and talent to form a “Fund Development Committee. We welcome anyone who would like to join us. We hope to see you there! Call Maris at 668-4853 to join!

IN NEED OF:

Women’s Underwear, sizes 6, 7, and 8. We also need disposable razors and other personal toiletry items. Our little ones always need diapers of all sizes, and Formula, (Similac). Our emergency food box program is running low on egg cartons.
Other needs are ground beef or other ground meats, pasta noodles, dish soap, bleach, paper towels, and bath towels. Please bring your donations to United Samaritans Foundation at 220S Broadway, in Turlock. Thanks for your help.

It's time to spring forward, so don’t forget to set your clocks ahead on April 3rd!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

If you know of a high school senior who needs to fulfill a service requirement for graduation, we have just the place – actually we have three! We can place your student (with a permission slip signed by a parent for those under 18) in any of our three locations.

Meals served on our trucks during the month of March 2005 were 36,278.

In our Emergency Food Box Program 245 families (625 people) were provided with a three-day, three meals per day supply of food, which equals 5,625 meals.
