TIME FOR SCHOOL

Canned Food Day at the
Stanislaus County Fair
The Canned Food Drive at the Fair was a wonderful success! Many thanks
to all the volunteers who greeted fair-goers, and to all the people
who came to the fair and brought their canned goods. Thanks also to
Tony Leo, Mary Hemminger, Boy Scouts Troop # 451, and The Directors
of the Stanislaus County Fair for all their hard work making this event
possible. We collected approximately 1,900 cans food and we could not
have done this without all of you. We are already looking forward to
Opening Day 2005, and hope to see you there.

APPLE PIE CONTEST
A very special thank you goes to Dr.
Dubyak’s Family Chiropractic
Services for sponsoring this year's Apple Pie Contest.
First place with a prize of $100.00 went to Robert Chance and
the 2nd place prize of $50.00 went
to Cheri Seversen.
All the pies were delicious and
very much appreciated.

SCHOOL
SUPPLIES
With school opening soon, we are asking for donations of school supplies
for those in need. Our supply from last year was distributed to
and used by students
of all ages. We have a lot of requests for backpacks. Please help us help the
students by dropping your contributions off at our office at 220 S. Broadway,
Turlock.

We Need YOU!
It’s
fresh fruit season again and we need your help to repack fruit bins
for transportation to our Modesto and Hughson Sites. If you are interested,
please call and leave your phone number .We receive the Fruit as
it ripens so we need “on-call volunteers” for approximately
2 hours at a time.

LUNCHES SERVED
Meals served on our trucks during the month of July, 2004, were 47,202.
In our Emergency food Box program, 270 families (694 people) were
served with a three-day, three meals per day supply of food.,
which equals 6,246 meals.
|
IN
NEED OF
Our little ones are still in need of diapers,
wipes, and formula (Similac). Our
big guys are in need of jeans, sizes 30-36 W x 30-34 L. The cold weather
will be here before long and there will be a big need for blankets.
In our homeless area we are still in need of disposable razors, toothbrushes and deodorant.
