FEINSTEIN FOUNDATION CHALLENGE

Get ready for another Feinstein Foundation Challenge! This is the ninth year that the Feinstein Foundation is dividing $1 million among non-profit organizations throughout the country who are helping fight hunger. All contributions, including food donations, received by United Samaritans Foundation between March 1 and April 30, 2005 will help us qualify for part of these funds. Your donation will have a larger impact, because the more contributions collected means a larger award from this grant. Remember, that by donating in March & April you will become a partner in what has become the most successful grassroots drive ever in this country to fight hunger. Schools can participate also by holding food drives. Every item of food that is donated will be valued at $1.00. The funding we have received each year has been extremely helpful to our ministry. With your generous donations, we have the ability to achieve even more. You can visit the Feinstein Foundation on the web at www.feinsteinfoundation.org.

Exciting News To Share

USF is pleased to announce that in the near future our homeless clients will have a Resource Center available on site to help them with their needs. This Resource Center will be operated by California State University, Stanislaus (CSUS). CSUS, We Care Program, USF, the City of Turlock, Stanislaus County and many other non-profit agencies collaborated in the writing of a grant to open the center. Interns from CSUS will have two coordinators to supervise and interact with them and the clients they will be serving. Stanislaus Literacy Center will offer literacy classes to those interested. Community Housing and Shelter Service will offer housing counseling services. The CSUS interns will offer services to help people apply for their birth certificates, California IDs, resume writing and referrals to other agencies in relation to the clients’ needs. We are very excited about this new endeavor.
