HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

FOOD DRIVE BENEFITS USF

Because of the community’s generosity and involvement, the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive generated 7,000 lbs of food for USF. Thank You for participating in this annual Food Drive. Your loyal support of this Annual Drive enables USF to continually reach out to those in need.

PIE CONTEST HELPS HUNGRY

The third annual All American Apple Pie Contest is on Friday, July 29 at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. Five judges will taste and grade each pie for appearance, taste & texture of the crust & filling. From prior annual events, USF has received 40 to 60 pies for the Turlock hungry & homeless. Dust off those pie recipes and register before June 16 at the Fairgrounds office (corner of Canal Dr & Broadway). Event Sponsor, Dr. Dave Dubyak of Dubyak Family Chiropractic, encourages everyone to bake two pies so that there is plenty to share with those in need.

Stanislaus County Fair opens Friday, July 29 at 5:00 pm. Mark your calendar now to attend! Bring a can of food for the hungry & homeless and receive a discount on your adult admission fee on opening night. Volunteers needed to receive food – 2 hour shifts. Call Maris (209) 668-4853.

VOLUNTEER IN SPOTLIGHT

Yvonne York has faithfully volunteered ten hours a week for seven years. USF says “Thank You Yvonne.” It is people like Yvonne who support USF in their efforts to make a difference by daily touching lives in a positive way. If you would like to volunteer, opportunities are available. You can make a difference!

USF NEEDS NEW OR GENTLY USED ITEMS SUCH AS:

Men and women’s short sleeve shirts, all types of underwear, sleeping bags and men & women’s jeans. All baby items (no car seats or furniture). Personal toiletry items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, deodorant, including bath towels will be greatly appreciated.

Food items: TUNA & SPICES.

Please bring your donations to United Samaritans Foundation at 220 S. Broadway, Turlock. All donations are tax deductible. Receipts are given.

Because of your faithful support, USF Daily Bread Trucks served 26,658 meals in May 2005. Emergency Food Boxes provided 5,652 meals to 628 individuals (254 families). Did you know that USF also provides a laundry and bathing facility for those in need? Did you know that USF also provides a postal mail station?
