Halloween
Candy
Its Halloween again
and each year at this time we try to put some Halloween treats in our
lunches. How can you help? When it’s time for you
to purchase your candy, please grab an extra bag for us! The candy must
be individually wrapped in order for us to distribute it. It can be dropped
off at any of our three sites. Please call 668-4853 if you have any questions. |
It’s Pumpkin
Pie Contest Time!!
Well,
almost…this is your advance notice to get your recipes
out and ready for Dr. Dave Dubyak’s Famous Pumpkin Pie Contest
which will be held on November 22nd.. Anyone who would like to can
bake two pies and take them to Dr. Dubyak’s office at 3008
Geer Rd., between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd. One will
be judged
and the other will be used on the lunch trucks on Thanksgiving Day.

DAY LIGHT SAVINGS
TIME
Remember we fall back and spring forward, so don’t forget
to turn your clocks back on Sunday, October 31st.

IN NEED OF:
As the weather gets colder, our homeless population will need blankets to
stay warm on winter nights.
We also
continue to need baby wipes & formula
(Similac) for our little ones and maternity clothes for
our soon-to-be mothers.
We are
also in need of toothpaste, razors, & deodorant for
our homeless window. Also hand can openers to
open our many cans are still needed.. Last but not least our
kitchen crew would
sure like
to have some herbs and spices to add a little
spark to meals for the Daily Bread Ministries. Please bring your

SERVED
Meals served on out trucks during the month of September
2004 were 42,973.
In our Emergency Food Box Program 297 families (671
people) were provided with a three-day, three meals per day supply
of food, which equals 6,957 meals.

HOLIDAY SEASON GREETINGS
In planning for the Christmas Season, please keep the special people
in your life in mind, by having a Holiday Card sent in their
honor. You can do so by making a tax deductible contribution
to United
Samaritans Foundation. We in turn, will send out a holiday card
in honor of your friend, or special someone. It is a great way
to keep those friends, co-workers, family, and love ones in mind,
while assisting USF in serving those less fortunate.
USF’s Daily Bread Ministries served over a half million
meals on five mobile food service trucks throughout Stanislaus
County last
year. Due to the growing number of impoverished and homeless people
we serve, we ask for your financial assistance in helping to meet
those needs.
